Figure S7. Daily vertical component of EP flux (which is proportional to the poleward transport of heat or upward transport of potential energy by planetary wave) at 100 hPa averaged over (top) 30°N–90°N and (bottom) 30°S–90°S for SEP 2005 The EP flux unit (kg m-1 s-2) has been obtained by multiplying a factor of the Brunt Vaisala frequency divided by the Coriolis parameter and the radius of the earth.
